Mango's turns One

Exeter is a city full of eateries and bars and it can be hard to stand out. It is not just about how your food tastes but the presentation of the dish, the ambience of the venue and the hospitality of the staff. With blogging becoming a fashionable trend, that along side social media are taking over the world of reviews, so it has to be a desirable setting.

For those of you that know Exeter you will be aware of how popular the quay is, especially in the summer. With people stopping off on their bike rides and those well earned breaks from the water sports, it’s a prime location.

I have spent many a sunny day at the quay and always yearned for a good brunch bar, lo and behold, there it was, Mango’s. Awesome menu. Tick. Superb location. Tick. Tick tick tick. Yep it ticks all the boxes.

Recently taken over by Fay, she redecorated the place and put her stamp on it. Perfectly located on the quay side, what more could you ask for. The menu is my idea of “Brunch”, chorizo baked eggs, American waffles and smashed avocado. Breakfast is served until 12 which is perfect for those late risers, the menu then switches to lunch, which is served until 4pm, the selection just as mouthwatering.

In April Mango’s will be changing their opening hours from 9am until late, offering an evening menu from 5pm until 9pm. There will be music outside which can be enjoyed with a range of their cocktails, wines and champagne. Fay will also be arranging some Ibiza sunset nights which consist of a DJ and cocktails. I cannot wait to hear more.

Exeter quay was first used as a port in prehistoric times giving Mango’s it’s charming character in it’s arched architecture. You can also enjoy Mango’s whilst sat on the quay side soaking up the rays and watching the world go by. 

Fay opened Mango’s on March 11th 2016 making Saturday their 1st birthday. To celebrate mango’s turning 1 we arranged a photoshoot capturing the venue and some of the best sellers.  Mango’s have had a thriving first year and are very much looking forward to an amazing second year. The works that have been carried out on the quay this winter have had an affect for businesses but these works are due to finish soon and the quayside business owners are looking forward to the sunnier months ahead, as are we all.
