Happy 2018! I hope you have all recovered from those fuzzy heads and food comas that come with the Christmas holidays!
It’s that time of year again when we look back at the past year and make resolutions for the upcoming. As we transition into a new year I reflect upon 2017 and the amazing memories that were made… here are some of my favourite moments from 2017 >>>
I started my year in Spain visiting family. It was pure bliss skipping the back to work feeling and enjoying the warmth of the Spanish sun in January. The rest of the month was spent visiting a few of my favourite places in Devon. Not forgetting a rainy Sunday afternoon at Tara’s busy kitchen for one of her wonderful tea parties!
The month of Cornwall, starting with a trip to St Ives, followed by a weekend in Padstow. Both weekends indulging in delicious foods and drinks, spent in great company.
The month started with a Networking event I had organized with Becky and was held at No 1 Polsloe Cafe. It was an inspiring evening, meeting lots of beautiful, talented people. I spent a rainy Sunday afternoon in one of my favourite spots on Dartmoor, The Rock Inn and I had a photoshoot with Mango’s to celebrate their first birthday. I also made a spontaneous trip to London to catch up with my bestie! March was rounded up nicely with a sunny trip to St Ives.
Wow, what a month April was. We moved out of our rented house in preparation for moving into our new home! In that very same week I started my new job. Crazy, busy, exciting times! I spent the Easter weekend in St Ives soaking up more of the Cornish sun and exploring pockets of Kernow. I finished April in Portugal, I think a holiday was needed after a month of packing and changes!
I came across the absolutely stunning Wells, what a remarkable place with perfect picture opportunities. Some more exploring of Devon and most importantly.. we became home owners! On May 30th we moved into our very own home.
I spent much of June settling into my new home and hosting dinner parties. I also somehow, amongst all the chaos, managed to plan a surprise trip to London for my boyfriends birthday. We watched Alt-J at the o2 and spent (arguably) the hottest weekend sipping ice cold gins at Holland park.
The 1st of July could not have been spent in any better way, it was the day we visited the Confetti Flower Fields. A place filled with pure beauty! Shortly after I had 30cm of my hair chopped off, which I donated to the Little Princess Trust. July was rounded up with a trip to St Ives for a beautiful wedding at Nancarrow farm!
This summer month was filled with foodie ventures and trips to multiple cake shops. Does it get much better? Not forgetting a few London evenings spent with the lovely Leigh Lewis.
I shared my birthday with the final cricket game of the season. So I spent the day sat in the sun, sipping fizz, watching the Exeter boys win the game… and then we celebrated. I had my first trip to The Crab Shack in Teignmouth and I can say it won’t be my last. The food was exceptional and the restaurant decor was dreamy. Last but by no means least I took a sensational trip to Antibes. A destination I highly recommend.
My final holiday of the year, a family trip to my mum’s in Spain. This holiday was a complete detox with hours spent lounging around the pool with my phone nowhere in sight. I filled the rest of October with autumn walks and pumpkin spotting!
The month I barely saw. Where did it go? It would seem I was too busy enjoying my time with family and friends, visiting from near and far.
CHRISTMASSSS. Wreaths. Christmas tree shopping. Buying presents. An amazing December filled with Christmassy activities and travelling many miles. Starting with Lincoln, Stratford upon Avon, Cornwall, North Devon, Hampshire and finally returning to Devon for NYE.
So that was the year of two thousand and seventeen, an amazing year filled with glorious memories that I will never forget. I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store! I hope the new year brings you all lots of happiness and health.
