July was another glorious month, filled with sunshine, friends and plenty of picnics. But of course I made time to visit a couple of Exeter’s finest places to grab a beverage, a cake and some lunch.
I started the month with a trip to Exe Coffee Roaster. What originally started out as a small van serving coffees at markets, festivals and various other events, has now turned into a super successful coffee shop, with their coffee freshly roasted by themselves in their handmade roaster. They also roast coffee for many other businesses around Exeter.
ECR have an array of Exploding Bakery's delicious cakes on offer, to enjoy along side a hot beverage. I opted for a slice of dark cherry and pistachio cake! Mmm.
We managed to grab the prime seat, with a huge window providing great lighting for an insta snap or two!
Located on Heavtiree Road, it’s a short walk from the centre and a great spot to relax and get some work done.
On one of many glorious sunny days in July, I had a girly lunch date with two of my best pals. Vicky was after something for lunch, so she suggested South Street Standard, as they had a quick lunch menu, perfect for those on a lunch break. However they were not offering the quick lunch menu, but they assured us it would soon be returning. We were still keen for relaxing in the sun and people watching, as you can look out onto the Cathedral and the green.
Lauren and I opted for a hot beverage, apparently it cools you down in the heat? Vicky still ordered something for lunch and it came out with plenty of time for her to enjoy her meal and get back to work on time!
If you are a fan of people watching and great scenery, South Street Standard is the place to go.
I don’t know what August has done to the weather, but can we have the sunshine and blue skies back now please!
I hope August is a good one!
